Vehicle Description
We like to call this the “Covid Rebuild†Volvo. Purchased by the current owner in June of 2020, the car subsequently benefited from over $25,000 in repairs, upgrades, and cosmetic improvements. Work included reupholstering the front and rear seats in black leatherette with houndstooth cloth inserts, adding matching door panel upholstery, and installing new carpeting throughout the cabin. An aftermarket air-conditioning system and replacement heater fan were also fitted for improved comfort.
Finished in white, the exterior features retrofitted Hella fog lights, chrome bumpers, mud flaps, and a roof rack. The rear fenders were modified to accommodate aftermarket 18-inch alloy wheels, and the exterior light lenses were replaced. Additional mechanical work included replacement of the starter, fan clutch, battery, steering rods, center link, brake hoses, and rear hub seals, along with repairs and modifications to the suspension.
Power comes from a replacement 2.0-liter B20 inline-four that was overhauled and is equipped with dual SU carburetors. A four-speed manual gearbox sends power to the rear wheels. The car is further equipped with power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, making it a well-sorted and thoughtfully upgraded example.
